ALLAN CONLAN ('96): A four-year member of the Plymouth State men's basketball team, Conlan ended his career as the program's top rebounder and stood sixth on the all-time scoring list (he is currently 11th). His 851 career rebounds remain the most in school history today, while he became the 13th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 career point mark, finishing his career with 1,183 points.
The two-time All-LEC First Teamer helped guide the Panthers to a 66-43 (.606) record over his four years, which included the Panthers first-ever NCAA Tournament at-large berth in 1996 and a spot in the championship game of the ECAC Tournament in 1994.
As a senior, Conlan averaged 13.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, both among the best in the LEC, while shooting 55.2% from the field (third highest in the conference). His 94 rebounds in LEC play were the 15th highest total in conference history at the time. He led PSU to a 19-9 mark and the finals of the LEC Tournament, where he was selected to the All-Tournament Team. PSU came up short in the title game, but was granted its first at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers fell to Williams College in the first round despite Conlan's team-highs of 13 points and eight rebounds.
Conlan had been even more impressive on the glass as a junior. His 10.0 rebounds per game led the LEC while his 131 rebounds in conference action was the second-most in league history. He added 12.5 points per game (second on the team) to help the Panthers to a 15-11 mark and the semifinals of the LEC Tournament, in which he averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 rebounds. He set a career-high with his 18-rebound effort in a win at the University of New England on Feb. 15, 1995.
Conlan enjoyed a break-out year as a sophomore, scoring 334 points (11.1/game) and pulling down 262 rebounds (8.7/game), leading the team on the glass, while finishing second in scoring. He posted team-highs in rebounds in 17 games while helping the team to a 20-10 mark and the title games of both the LEC and ECAC tournaments. Over the team's six postseason games he averaged a double-double (10.2 points, 10.7 rebounds), including a 17-point, 13-rebound effort in a 102-101 win over Salem State in the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament.
Over his four years, Conlan led the team in rebounding 54 times (over 109 total games), while recording 33 double-doubles. He was recognized on the GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America District I team in 1996.
