BRUCE GABRIEL (‘82):  One of the finest wrestlers ever to wear the green and white of Plymouth State College, Bruce Gabriel was PSC’s first four-time all-New England selection.

“Gabe” compiled an 11-6 record as a freshman in 1976-77 and then went 14-1 as a sophomore in the 142 pound class. His sophomore mark included a record ten pins. Bigger and stronger as a junior, Gabriel mover up to the 150 pound class and compiled a 15-0 dual meet record. A 17-2 mark as a senior gave Gabriel a career dual meet record of 57-9. Gabriel’s career record includes 35 straight dual meet triumphs from 1978-80.

Plymouth State compiled dual meet records of 14-7 during Gabriel’s junior and senior years- the two winningest wrestling seasons ever at PSC. Gabriel earned spots in four NCAA wrestling tournaments as well during his career.

Gabriel was named as an assistant wrestling coach at the Home of the Panthers for the 1981-82 season, when he helped head coach Jim Aguiar and the PSC matmen compiled a fine 12-8 record.
