DAVE WEBSTER:  A former head coach for three Plymouth State sports teams, Dave Webster served more than 20 years as Panther men’s ice hockey and men’s lacrosse coach in addition to seven seasons as women’s tennis coach.  Webster led the three programs to a combined record of 382-308-17 over his 21-year career and retired as the all-time winningest coach of all three programs.

A longtime resident of Meredith, N.H., Webster took over the Panther ice hockey program in 1976 and guided the team for 20 seasons, accumulating a record of 208-172-16 with five ECAC post-season berths.  He led the 1985-86 team to a berth in the ECAC Championship game and a 19-7 record, which still exists as the program standard for wins in a season.  He coached the men’s lacrosse team to a 129-113 record in 21 years as coach (1978-98), including an 11-6 mark his final season that was one win shy of the school record for victories in a season.  He also posted a 45-23-1 mark in seven seasons (1989-95) as women’s tennis coach, including a 9-3 mark in 1990 that matched the school record for wins in a season that lasted until 2011.

Webster also started the high school varsity lacrosse program at Laconia/Belmont and led the team to three state titles, and he was the recipient of the Walter Smith Coaches Award from the New Hampshire Union Leader. Six of Webster’s former Plymouth State athletes have been inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
