JOHN HOPKINS ('71): The first Plymouth State College athlete to ever attain All-America status, John Hopkins graduated from PSC in 1971 after an athletic career which included starring roles on both the Panthers' men’s lacrosse and men’s basketball beams.

Hopkins led the 1970 and 1971 Panther lacrosse teams to Colonial League Championships, earning All-American honors in 1970 after helping the PSC laxmen compile a 12-2 record.

Hopkins was also an important member of PSC’s 1968-69 championship basketball team that compiled a 17-4 record for coach Dayton Spaulding. Hopkins later served as a men’s basketball team captain and against Bridgewater State in 1970 he matched Steve Bamford’s individual single game scoring record with 45 points.
