DIANA GRANT WALKER ('79): A former varsity basketball and lacrosse player at Plymouth State, Walker has been highly successful as field hockey coach at Sanford (Maine) High School since 1983. She has led the team to two Maine state championships (1999, 2000) and three Western Maine titles (1999, 2000, 2001). A three-time Coach of the Year honoree, Walker was featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd after leading the team to 50 consecutive victories earlier this decade.

Walker has been involved in youth field hockey, coaching Select teams and serving on the high school All-America selection committee. While field hockey is where she has made her name, Walker also coached track at Massabesic High School for five years (1999-2004), and coached varsity field hockey and basketball at Woodsville (N.H.) High School for four years from 1979-82.

Walker played varsity basketball at Plymouth State her freshman and sophomore seasons while serving as a student athletic trainer for the football and women's lacrosse teams. She played varsity lacrosse her junior and senior years, and was selected Offensive Most Valuable Player in 1979 after leading the team to an 11-0 record and the New England championship.
