CHERYL CHASE PEABODY ('85): A former four-year women’s basketball player and two-year captain at Plymouth State, Cheryl Chase Peabody was a leader on the Panther teams of the early 1980s under coaches Chris Rizzieri and Bonnie Foley.  Chase Peabody was a senior captain and third-leading scorer in 1984-85 when the Panthers finished with a 16-8 record, at the time the best record in school history.

A native of Milton, N.H. (Nute HS), Chase Peabody has made her mark on coaching in the New Hampshire Seacoast area since graduating from Plymouth State.  She served nearly two decades as girls’ basketball coach at Farmington High School (1986-91, 1993-2007) as well as volleyball coach at Farmington (1985-92, 2003) and a stint as Athletic Director (1990-92). She was named Foster’s Daily Democrat Volleyball Coach of the Year in 1992.

Chase Peabody also has been active on the youth sports scene.  She was an AAU basketball coach for more than 20 years (1986-07) and was instrumental in the growth of the NHAAU, serving as the organization’s president in 1990.  She has been a coach and on the Board of Directors for NH Seacoast Volleyball since 2000, and has been involved with an elite travel volleyball team and girls basketball in Barrington since 2008.
