PAUL HOGAN ('79): A former head men's basketball coach at Plymouth State, Hogan has enjoyed success since 1999 as athletic director, professor of sports management, and head men's basketball coach at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, N.H..
A native of Plymouth, N.H., and the son of PSU Athletic Hall of Fame coach and professor Dr. James J. Hogan, Paul served as assistant men's basketball and assistant women's soccer coach at Plymouth State from 1985-90, and as head men's basketball coach from 1990-98. He guided the Panther hoop squad to seven winning seasons in eight years, earning five post-season berths and compiling a 136-80 overall record. He led the Panthers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1996, ECAC Tourney berths in 1991, 1994, 1997 and 1998, and he was voted Little East Conference Coach of the Year in 1991 and 1998.
Hogan's success at NHTI has been highlighted by adding six teams to the athletic department; directing special events for high schools and colleges through the sports management program; leading the NHTI men's basketball team to a 185-66 record, including the USCAA D-2 national championship in 2005 with a 31-3 record; and earning USCAA D-2 Coach of the Year honors in 2002. Hogan is also widely-known for running summer basketball camps and clinics throughout the Granite State, including Hogan Camps, King of the Mountain and Shooters' Gold.
