STEPHEN COLONNA ('99): A dominant defenseman and two-year captain for the Panther men’s hockey teams in the late 1990s, Steve Colonna becomes just the sixth hockey player inducted into the PSU Hall of Fame.  Colonna was a four-year veteran and two-time All-Star for the Panthers, playing under three different head coaches (Dave Webster, Sal Leale and Mike Bonelli).

A native of Falmouth, Mass. (Falmouth H.S.), Colonna was a powerful blue-liner for the Panthers who used his size and strength to intimidate opponents and alter teams’ attack.  He also became a solid offensive threat with 10 goals and 15 assists over his final two seasons.  Colonna earned ECAC All-Star honors as both a junior and a senior, the first two-time All-Conference selection in school history.

Colonna helped turn the Panther ice hockey program around, going from just five wins in 1995 the year before he got to Plymouth to a 12-9-1 record in 1996-97.  He helped lead the team to ECAC play-off berths in 1998 and 1999.
