COLBY COMPTON ('96): A star linebacker for the powerful PSC football teams of the mid-1990s under coach Don Brown, Colby Compton was a two-time First Team All-America and Freedom Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year (1994-95). He earned All-ECAC and First Team All-FFC accolades three straight years (1993-95) and led the Panthers to three straight post-season berths, including back-to-back NCAA appearances in ’94 and ’95.

A native of East Brookfield, Mass./David Prouty H.S., Compton became the backbone of the “Green Wall” Panther defense while earning First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore in ’93 and leading the team to an ECAC post-season berth.  He earned national recognition the next two years as he was named All-America in 1994 (First Team by CoSIDA and Football News, Second Team by AP) and again in 1995 (First Team by AFCA, Second Team by CoSIDA).

Compton starred on some of the top football teams in New England Division III history his junior and senior years.  He led the Panthers to perfect 9-0 regular seasons and berths in the NCAA  Tournament in ’94 and ’95, registering a first-round victory over Kings Point in ’94, the first ever for a New England school. He led the Panthers to a combined 25-6 overall record from ’93-’95, serving as co-captain as a senior.
