STEVE VAILLANCOURT ('74):  Perhaps the original “Voice of the Panthers”, Steve Vaillancourt became well known during the 1970s for publicizing and reporting Plymouth State sports in an era before the college had a full-time person for the job. He served as Sports Editor of The Clock, the student newspaper, and Sports Director of WPCR, the student radio station. He broadcasted seven different Panther sports from all over New England, and his writing efforts got Plymouth State printed in newspapers and magazines around the region and nation.

Vaillancourt also broadcast a weekly PSC sports highlight show on WPNH, and wrote numerous articles for the Plymouth Record. He founded, hosted, and wrote the questions for the popular Sports Challenge Cup, a College Bowl for sport trivia. He now Resides in Manchester.
