LINDA MARRER '78:  A versatile, multi-sport athlete from an era when women’s athletics was just beginning to blossom, Linda Marrer played five sports at Plymouth State, making her biggest mark in field hockey. She was a physical education major and four-year varsity field hockey player (’73-’76), serving as team captain her senior year. She scored six goals in a game against Salem state in 1973, a PSC mark that still stands today for most goals in a game. That also earned her PSC Athlete of the Week, the first women to receive that honor.

Marrer also played two years for the Panther basketball, as well as a season each on skiing, softball, and lacrosse teams. She remained active in field hockey after her collegiate career, and was involved in coaching field hockey at Plymouth Regional High School and softball at Plymouth State.
