CAROL DOZIBRIN ('77): Dozibrin has been a mainstay among interscholastic sports in the state of New Hampshire since obtaining her degree in physical education from Plymouth State. Her lengthy career includes time as a teacher, coach and administrator at four different schools.

Dozibrin got her start at Farmington High School in 1977 where she taught physical education and served at the junior varsity basketball coach. After two years she moved to Timberlane Regional Middle School, filling the roles of PE teacher, cross country and track & field coach and director of athletics for ten years. She moved to Newport Middle High School where she taught PE and served as director of athletics for another ten-year stint from 1989-99, before capping her career with a 19-year stay as director of athletics at Winnacunnet High School from 1999 until her retirement following the 2017-18 school year.

Dozibrin remains an active member of the New Hampshire Athletic Directors Association (NHADA) where she currently serves as the group's first Executive Director, a title she's held since 2017. Dozibrin is a former NHADA president and treasurer, served on the spring conference committee for 26 years and chaired the awards committee from 1996-2017. In 2006 she was presented with the NHADA State Award of Recognition.

She has also been heavily involved with the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association for a number of years. She served as chair of the NHIAA football committee and was also a vital member of the coaches Education, Finance, strategic planning, sports officiating and gender equity committees. She served on the NHIAA Council from 1998-2015, was NHIAA President from 2002-04 and was recognized with the NHIAA Service Award in 2005. In 2016, the NHIAA Advancement of Girls Sports Award was renamed the Carol Dozibrin Advancement of Girls Sports Award to honor her commitment toward promoting the increased participation of females into high school athletics.

Her outreach has not been limited to the Granite State, however. Dozibrin became involved on a national level when she joined the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) in 1987. She has been the New Hampshire Leadership Training State Coordinator since 1998 and currently serves on the National Faculty for leadership training while both teaching and taking multiple leadership training courses. From 2001-04 she served on the NIAAA Board of Directors as an at-large member and in June became a certified master athletic administrator.

Dozibrin has been awarded the National Federation of High School Citation, NIAAA State Award of Merit, NIAAA Distinguished Service Award, is a two-time New Hampshire Athletic Director of the Year and has been inducted in Newport High School Athletic Hall of Fame (2010) and NHIAA Hall of Fame (2013). In December she will be honored at the NIAAA National Conference as the recipient of the Thomas E. Frederick Award of Excellence, presented to an NIAAA member whose loyalty to the association and contributions to the profession locally, state-wide and nationally represent excellence in achievement.
